The Certification Process

If you're due to get your annual fire safety statement in the Hunter Valley, our accredited fire safety practitioners at Hunter Fire & Safety can assess and endorse your building's certification.

A Fire Safety Certificate, which is the initial safety statement, is often submitted to council in response to a:

  • Construction Certificate
  • Building Approval
  • Complying Development Certificate
  • Development Consent; or
  • Fire Safety Order

Every year after the initial certificate, a new Fire Safety Statement is required, by law, and must be displayed on the property. To certify your building, our team will inspect and test your systems and equipment and arrange any necessary repairs or replacements. Failing to stay up to date with your certification could result in legal action.
